Twilight zone

Well seems like forever since I last posted....life has been crazy.....worst was last week and the start of entering what felt like the twilight zone. my middle son came home from school sick and later in the day told us he had pain in his groin...we took him to the ER and 30 min later we were in an ambulance on our ay to the childrens hospital in the city. Met by a trauma team at the door turned out my son had testicular tortion.....where the testicle twsists and cuts off blood supply. They examined him did some tests and headed up to surgery. Unfortunately it was to late and he had to have the testicle removed.....quite upsetting for a 13 yr old boy and us. Recovery was said to be 4-6 weeks. We return home to our other 2 children and have a day or rest. My older son tells me he has a pain in his side.....I question him on it and say if not better tomorrow I will have it looked at....well no better so we head off to ER again 3 days after first son went. His white cell count is high but they are not sure..sent him home till morning.....went back for an ulrasound and yup it was appendix.....surgery scheduled for right away. Turns out it was full of puss and gangreen ahd set in...surgeon could not believe he was not in more pain......so a 3 day stay in hosital for him to administer IV antibiotics. Hly cow 2 major surgeries in 4 days....felt like life was spinning out of control.......things are looking up youngest has returned to school moving slowly but doing well. Oldest tried school yesterday but was just wiped out so home again today....he looked so tired today...hopefully they are all better soon.

Wow thurs evening already......have not had a chance to pop by and Blog......trying very hard to get ready for my 1st ever craft type show this weekend. I have 250 cards made which should be okay for this one....I was trying to have a few of everything but still some holes with certain events...oh well maybe next time. I was happy to hear the buisness that sells my cards sold out of Mothers Day cards so will have to restock their shelves after this show. I had a busy week with the daycare too...lots of new little ones so keeps me on my toes.....I am sure by Sun I will just want to stay home in my jammies and rest for the day...weekends just go by too fast. My boys also have thier annual parade for cadets on sat so have to be there for that. I was so proud of my younger son..he got promoted to master bombadier on tues night!!! My oldest was promoted to Warrant a bout 1 month ago and now my hubby is to be promoted to Warrant in the cnd forces this June...so my men are all doing well. It is the start of dance recital rehearsals so the next few weeks will be busy running my dd to her dance nights and then recital weekend.
Well back to the last card prep for sat and to watch some TV....survivor tonight......and my fav's The Mentalist and CSI......

I hope everyone had an awsome Mothers Day...my family took me shopping at a craft store...one of my fav things to do.Then out to Timmies for lunch. We came home and I spent the afternnoon crafting in front of the fire. My dd rented a movie for me....Hatchi(sp?) it was such a good movie...a tear jerker...we were both blubbering fools by the end but we both loved it...if you get a chance rent it and buy a box of tissue.
My 1st ever craf type show is this weekend...I have been working like crazy to make sure I have enough variety of cards. I think last count it was over 200 so hopefully there will be something for everyone. I have been taking advantage of uploading my cards on craftuprint and making a little money to buy new sheets....always a good thing......

I guess I missed posting yesterday...quiet day for work but then we had an event to attend in the evening. The dojo we had all trained at some point over the last ten years was closing and it was an evening to thank our sensai and his wife. My oldest had been with them the entire ten years....earning his adult black belt this past march....he had to be 16 to grade for the adult...he had been a junior black belt for 5 years. So a late evening for us.
We wook up this morning to a hail storm and then it has snowed on and off all day...weird weather for sure. My oldest went to town for a clean up group...he ended up spending the morning in a canoe cleaning garbage off the river that flows through town...he also pulled 4 shopping carts out...needless to say he was cold and soaked when he was done. Hubby and I did the weekly grocery,wal mart run while we waited for him to finish. The rest of the day was quiet....watche dTooth Fairy with my boys and made some cards. Tonight I have a fire going and my dd and I are watching the movie Hatchi and crafting.

Well anouther starnge weather day....the power was out for awhile and it is now sunny but quite cool compared the humid weather we have been having last month. I had a very busy day with my daycare...kept me hoping all day.....I have more little ones now and find now that I am older(LOL) I tire easier.....oh well tomorrow is friday!!! My middle son starts ball practice tonight hope the scheduling will be reasonable on play times. My dd got a call from an boy from anouther school last night...and older...hmmmmm not sure i am ready for this. overall things are good.....2 weeks till the craft show....hope we do okay with card sales

Funny weather today...30 minutes it is sunny then 30 minutes later it is windy and 30 minutes later so black and stormy...then back to sunny again....I find it hard with the wind because of my allergies.....blows all the pollen in my face.....now tonight it looks like we are in for a big storm. hopefully it will wash some of the pollen away. Made a few cards tonight....hubby and my boys went for a driving lesson...oldest just got his G1. they were nice enough to bring home Ice Cappachinos from Timmies. I am heading to bed early...have a busy day with the daycare tomorrow.....kids coming and going all day. Will keep me busy for sure.

My allergies have been playing havoc with me lately....nice days but windy so my eyes are all red and puffy due to pollen getting blown in them....nothing too exciting happened yesterday...had a really quiet day at work...had to send someone home with an eye infection.....hopefully none of us get it....terrible to say but just trying to get through the day so I can head to bed early tonight.

Next weekend is mothers day so thought I would share some cards i have made over the week. This was anouther craftsuprint sheet....I added copper stickles to the center of the daisy...it was so effective in person....

Okay can someone tell me where the weekend went.....So much for sleeping in this morning.....I had our youngest cat Pipsqueak with her wet face in mine at 6am...I don't know what that kitty does when she drinks but she is always soaked. She is not yet 1 year old so always finds plenty of things to get inot or annoys our other 3 cats.....Callie,Snuggles and Chewy. So woke my boys up at 7am since they did not do things they were suppossed to while we were gone yesterday...we don't ask much of our kids but when they don't do as asked it bugs me some...so they had a list of chores to do today...they were good about not whining....and were done by noon. Even cleaned the bathrooms!!! My dd and I headed into town and bought groceries. We stopped at the dollar store so I could get some craft items I needed. I like to get them there if I can...so much cheaper than a craft store. Finally I took my dd to the sports store and got her new running shoes....they had buy one get one 50%off so bought a size up for her to grow into.....the good thing was she liked them....fashion is so important to young ones these days. Made a pit stop and Tim hortons...got everyone iced cappachinos to bring home....The rest of the day was spent catching up on the laundry and we washed the car and cleaned it out. I was able to make a few cards today. I have been uploading my cards to craftsuprint and making some money...allows me to buy some more sheets....I have a craft fair on the 15th so trying to stock up for it. Well going to go back to my craft table and watch Amazing Race...more reality TV:)

My beautiful 11 year old DD dancing her heart out today. where does time go...she looked so mature on stage today. Everyone kept calling her a mini me.....since she got her hair cut short we really do look alot alike.....poor kid...LOL The routine was danced to James Blunt's same mistake....it was beautifully done.

Happy National Scrapbook day......well for me not much paper crafting...I spent the day in the city with my dd who had a dance competition today.....She was competing with her Lyrical Dance Group...they did well earning a silver award. They were just in the recreational groupings. We also made a pit stop on the way to the city at Costco ...got some great deals there.
I did wake up early this morning and worked on a few cards. So felt I participated a small amount in the National scrapbook holiday..LOL
Glad to be home....the dance competitions are a long day...4 hours travel time in total...and a lot of sitting around waiting......Or for me today straightening many girls hair for the performance.
Off to bed and will see what adventures tomorrow brings...hopefully sleeping in is one of them.

Here is anouther card I made. Again Janet Briggs is the sheet maker. This is the mate to the boy one. The flower ribbon is not as pretty as the ribbon on the boy card but the ribbon from the bow is from my friend in china. The flower ribbon was a bargain ....good old dollar store finds.

TGIF I had a rough time sleeping last night...seems to be an on going thing with me...1 or 2 days with a good sleep and then a few days with awful sleep patterns...makes it hard as I always feel like I am playing catch up.....I had a quiet day with kids today.....it was overcast but quite warm....We are to have thundershowers all day tomorrow. That will be okay as we are off to the city. My dd has a dance competition with her lyrical group. Hoping to do some shopping on the way...will see. Well going to try and make a few cards while watching Who do You Think you Are? Tonight is Spike Lee. Later

Almost the end of the week...Woo Hoo....it was anouther sunny day but the wind was a little cool. The kids and I had a fun afternoon outside. My oldest came home with his report card and had very good marks...nice to see a 16 year old care about doing well in school. Had a nice dinner and now working at my craft table....Really hoping we don't get down to -2 degrees tonight. Calgary had snow yesterday and it played havoc at the airports etc.....would hate to see that here!!! I want spring to stay...LOL

Well 1/2 way through the week and I can hardly wait till the weekend. I run a home daycare and after yesterday's migrain I was exhausted today. We still had fun and spent lots of time outside...although it was still cool. I hope all the storm/snow they got out west stays there and we don't see it........Well going to sit and make some cards and watch some bad reality tv......Americas Next top Model and the new game show Minute to Win It.

First post/first time blogger

So it seems everyone in the world is into Blogging......so I guess maybe it is my turn to jump on that band wagon....Time will tell if I can keep up with a day to day commitment.
I am a military wife married 18 years to a wonderful man. We have 3 great kids and live in rural Ontario. I have always loved crafting,sewing,x-stitch etc but while my hubby was overseas i was introduced to scrapbooking and since then the world of cardmaking. My cards are nothing special but I love sitting in the evening and working on a new card. So hopefully I will share some of my work here with anyone who cares to drop by. till tomorrow
